Booking & Policies (aka The Fine Print, Made Fun)
+ 📅 Office Hours & Communication
Emails: I respond to emails on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM (MST).
During these hours, you’ll have my full attention, and I’ll get back to you within 48-72 hours.
• Phone Calls & Texts: I only accept phone calls or texts on the day of your session or wedding. Otherwise, all communication must be through email to keep everything organized and ensure I don’t miss any important details.
• Why Email? It keeps things streamlined, searchable, and stress-free (no lost texts or DMs!). Plus, let’s be honest—my brain has about 50 open tabs at any given moment.
Keeping everything in one place helps me stay on top of your session details like a pro.
+ ⚡ A Quick Note About My ADHD & “Sparkle Brain”
I want to be upfront with you: I have ADHD, which means my brain works a little differently! I am hyper-dedicated to my work, but sometimes I get sidetracked by a million ideas, or I hyperfocus on editing and don’t check my inbox right away. If I don’t respond immediately, please know I’m not ignoring you or being rude—I just might have gotten pulled into a deep creative hyperfocus zone.
That said, I will always get back to you within my stated response time! If it’s been longer than 72 hours, a gentle nudge is totally okay. I appreciate your patience and understanding—it’s part of what helps me deliver my absolute best work to you!
+ 📍 Scheduling & Session Guidelines
Portrait Sessions: I schedule sessions on weekdays (Monday–Thursday), either at sunrise or two hours before sunset for the best lighting.
Weekend Sessions: If you’d like a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday session, there’s a $150 weekend fee. Most weekends are reserved for weddings, but I’ll always do my best to accommodate!
Mini vs. Full Sessions:
• Mini Sessions (15-30 min): Limited to pre-selected locations close to town.
• Full Sessions (60+ min): You can choose up to 2 locations within a 50-mile radius of Albuquerque or Taos.
If we travel beyond that, a mileage fee will apply.
Holidays: Sessions are not available including:

✅ Memorial Day Weekend (Fri–Mon)
✅ 4th of July
✅ Labor Day Weekend (Fri–Mon)
✅ Thanksgiving (Wed–Sun)
✅ Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

+ 💬 Response Times & Expectations
I do my best to respond to emails within 48-72 hours during my office hours. However, if I’m in the middle of wedding season or deep in an editing marathon, it might take a little longer. I appreciate your patience and promise—if you haven’t heard back from me in 3 business days, it’s 100% okay to send a polite follow-up.
If it’s the day of your session or event and you need to reach me urgently, text or call me!
Otherwise, email is the best way to ensure I keep track of everything we discuss.
+ ⏰ Rescheduling & Late Arrivals
We get it—life happens!
Here’s how we handle changes:
Standard Reschedules
One complimentary reschedule per session with 72+ hours notice.
Reschedules must be completed within 60 days of your original booking.
Less than 72 hours? That counts as a cancellation, and the retainer is non-refundable.
Second reschedule? The original retainer is forfeited.
Weather, Emergencies & COVID-19
One free reschedule per session, no matter the reason. 🌦️
Second reschedule? A $100 fee applies.
We’ll explore indoor alternatives if outdoor shooting isn’t possible (client covers any studio rental).
Photographer discretion ensures your session still looks 🔥.
Late Arrivals & No-Shows
Arrive on time to make the most of your session!
30+ minutes late = no-show, retainer is forfeited.
No call, no show = cancellation + forfeited retainer.
Reshoots & Refunds
We bring our A-game every time. 💪
No reshoots or refunds unless technical issues prevent delivery of agreed-upon images.
Any concerns? We’ll work with you to make it right.
+ 🌧️ Inclement Weather Guidelines
Outdoor portrait sessions are weather-dependent.
If conditions are unsafe, we’ll find indoor or covered alternatives where possible.
If alternatives aren’t feasible, some shots may not be achievable.
No refunds beyond the contract amount; weather is unpredictable, but we’ll capture the essence of your day.
+ ❌ Cancellation Policy
48 hours after booking: Reservation fee is non-refundable.
Within 2 weeks of your session: Up to 65% cancellation fee of remaining balance.
Full balance paid: Up to 35% refundable if cancelled within 2 weeks of session.
All cancellations must be in writing (email preferred) to be valid.
Other arrangements? We’ll document them in writing to keep things crystal clear.
+ 🏛️ Client Responsibilities
Permissions & Permits
✅ You’re responsible for getting permissions for all locations.
Any fines or restrictions due to missing permissions? Not on us.
✅ Any fees for permits, travel, parking, lodging, or admission are client responsibility.
During the Session
✅ Assist in achieving your dream shots—guide us to locations, direct family, and pose as needed.
✅ Keep other family members or friends from interfering with your session.
✅ Fill out questionnaires or forms to keep things on schedule.
✅ Don’t edit, crop, or filter your photos (this includes friends/family).
Props & Personal Items
✅ Bring your own props or collaborate with us on prop sourcing.
✅ Any damages to personal items during the session are client responsibility.
+ 💰 Expenses
Travel & Location Fees: Client covers travel, parking, lodging, destination fees, and location permits.
Props & Additional Services: Physical cost of props + time for sourcing may apply if not provided by client.
